The Pacific Festival of the Book presents a number of opportunities to learn
about the craft of writing and publishing books. Check back here often for updates

The Graphic Novel: what it is, how
it got here, and where it’s going.

One of the hottest trends of the past decade, graphic novels have really come
of age. Noted author/illustrators Ken
and Joan Steacy focus a panel, workshop and display on this very hot art
form that has found a real place in literature. The participants include Paul
Chadwick, Gareth Gaudin, Martin
Springett and Ken Steacy.

This workshop will provide you with the insight needed to maintain ownership
and control of your book; understand the digital printing process; determine
what areas are best left to a designer or a desktop publisher; what areas you
can handle yourself, and how to avoid extra costs and unnecessary delays along
the way.
